After years of dealing with failing switches, mother boards, relays, and timers, mainly because NOBODY made these parts with 100% stainless steel components (instead of cheap made in China metal) that could withstand the oxidative pressure of ozone over long periods of time, we decided that the solution was to "Keep it Simple". In a nutshell, that and the old oak Curtis Mathis TV-Raidos are the inspiration behind our ozone generators.
Do our ozone generators feature built in timers? No. We sell a $12 / Free S&H external wall timer that works great and best of all, won't cause your ozone generator to break down someday! What about an on-off switch? No. On-off switches are the first thing to go! Nothing like arriving on a job site in the middle of nowhere, turning on your ozone generator, and nothing happens! That will never happen if you own one of our machines! We do recommend you plug our ozone generators into a surge protector (that features an on-off switch) which will, over time, need to be replaced for about $4. We then recommend you run an extension cord to a wall timer placed in an adjacent area not being shocked with ozone. This set-up works great and ensures long equipment life.
What about a variable output? Being able to turn the ozone concentration up or down so that it can produce low levels of ozone in occupied dwellings is a feature many customers want and demand. However, your federal government has a thing for ozone generator vendors who sell so called "ozone air purifiers". Large fines, laws, etc will eventually put those vendors out of business. Besides, it's really not a good idea to breath ozone unless you can monitor it and make sure you're well within the EPA guidelines. However, we do have a solution for those who wish to introduce small amounts of ozone into their living environment. It's called a repeat cycle timer. (Google the term "Encore Repeat Cycle Timer for the best one we've found) This type of timer will turn your ozone generator on for x amount of seconds every x amount of minutes. One can easily make some calculations and inject a precise amount of ozone into the air every so often to give your air a nice fresh smell without going above EPA ozone exposure guidelines.
The bottom line with our air purifier innovations is that simple trumped high tech. Without any "prone to fail" parts, our ozone generators can and will last a lifetime, even if our government or world is unrecognizable in 10, 20, 50 years, anyone who purchases one of our air purifiers will be able to keep it functioning forever with easy to obtain parts. (from us or someone else). Here are the key features:
Cabinet: Our units feature no cabinet (sit on solid oak base) or a 3/4 inch thick solid Red Oak with Stainless steel parts and screws. Ozone will not damage the cabinet or the fixtures even after 100 years! Back in the golden age of American manufacturing, stereo's and TV's were made from solid Oak. You can still find solid Oak Cabinet Stereo's and TV's from 80 years ago as collectors items in many homes today. You don't think of discarding something made from solid oak; but something made out of plastic or steel? We want people to know our ozone generators are "forever ozone generators" with a lifetime warranty, not a typical disposable machine.
Oak Finish: Our solid oak cabinets are first treated with linseed oil and then with a water based polyurethane finish to render the wood "waterproof". Anyone can add layers of water based polyurethane after a few years and in the future as needed.
Wiring: We place the wires in an air tight electrical box for safety and to protect the connections and fuse from ozone damage over time.
Transformers: Our 4-7 KV transformers are all air cooled from the one or two 100 CFM AC fans to prevent over-heating and premature failure.
High Voltage Ozone Plates. Unlike brittle MICA plates that use wire mesh to generate ozone (only produce around 400 milligrams per plate) and only last a few months, our high voltage ozone plates are rated for over 10,000 hours at 40% humidity and only cost $15 to replace once they burn out. And yes, we stock and sell all parts, so you won't get stuck with an expensive door stop in the future.
Easy Access Ozone Board: We make the oak cabinet ozone ozone generators with an easy ozone board that pulls out for easy maintenance. We learned over time our customers wouldn't take the time to remove even 4 screws after each shock treatment to properly maintain the unit. Other ozone generators build up over time toxic mold dust as well as a number of chemical toxins inside the cabinet. That poses a health risk to you and your family if you bring the machine inside your residence and can even perhaps pose a health risk to the operator setting up the shock treatment. For sure dust buildup causes premature failure to plates, fans, etc. These are not issues with our ozone generators. The pull out easy access ozone board makes for easy cleaning after each use.
100 CFM AC Fans / Filters: We mount the fans on the outside of the cabinet for easy access to clean and replace when the need arises. We use an electrostatic pre-filter ($0.25) to keep the inside of the unit as dust free as possible.
Maintenance: We treat the oak cabinet with linseed oil (non VOC) and a water based polyurethane finish. You can do the same from time to time to keep it looking shinny and new.
After each use, use a "baby wipe" towel to clean the top of the ozone plates and wipe the easily accessible parts of the interior. Use compressed air to remove any dust from under the transformers and plates, fan.
